How to reach us
All boats to Bonthe leave from Yagoi. To reach Yagoi, you will follow a tarmac road to Moyamba, then a graded dirt road to the rutile mining followed by rough road for the last section. A 4x4 is strongly advised.
If you a planning a weekend getaway we recommend staying a minimum of two nights. It's not easy to reach Mania, but you will be greeted by secluded beaches, local hospitality and a very warm welcome!
From Yagoi you have 3 options:
The Ferry will take several hours but you can move around on the boat and it is very picturesque (see the photo above). It costs about 20,000 Le but can be irregular. The ferry goes to Bonthe town and you will then need to get another boat to Mania.
Alternatively we can arrange a speedboat or engine boat about to collect you which will be waiting for you when you arrive at Yagoi. A group booking the whole guest house can easily fit in one boat.
Speedboat is the quickest (40 minutes depending on the current). Price is per boat (not per person) one way and based on the price of fuel - estimate Le 440,000.
Engine boat is slower and more tranquil about 2 to 3 hours depending on the current. Price is per boat one way and uses less fuel than the speedboat - estimate Le 330,000.
